Episode Synopsis: With the successful evacuation of pilots from Lem 9, the settlement encounters a horrifying surprise in the absence of their ace pilot Nagate Tanikaze. Kobayashi faces the dilemma of finally shedding light on a years-old, illegal project she had vowed to leave in the dark.
Author’s Note: My apologies for the length of time it took to upload this particular chapter! I am currently exploring different writing styles as well as constantly deliberating how the plot will unfold from this point forward (the story now looks very different from how I imagined it two months ago and its a lot of fun—but also time-consuming—hashing out all the details. As a result, I will be taking a brief hiatus from posting chapters just so I can I go back and re-edit the first four chapters: taking out possible plot inconsistencies, any missed grammatical errors, and re-examining the faithfulness of the characterization where needed). I’m thinking I should start posting again in another two weeks. In the meantime, thank you to those who’ve taken the time to read and follow the story. Again, I welcome any constructive feedback!
